Ben Likes Spring.

See that smile? That's pretty much how Ben looked the whole time we were outside today.

Afterwards he looked like this:

Sammy looked like this:
Caught in the act. Sigh. (He's pulling all the pins out of the globe and throwing them onto the floor, in case you were wondering.)

On The Phone

Ben loves talking on the phone. Today while he was talking to Dad he had to go do something so he handed me the phone and said, "Here, hold Grampa for me, and I will be right back to talk to him some more."

Once he gets you on the phone he's pretty hard to get rid of because he has a lot to say on the subjects of fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, fire alarms, burglar alarms, and various other safety related issues. I'm half kidding. Actually, he hasn't been bringing up that stuff on the phone with people as much lately, which is, I'm sure, a great relief to Glen's mom, my dad, my mom, my sister, and Noah. He still checks for a smoke detector in every new building we enter though. He's very safety conscious.

Sam shocked the socks off of some of the moms at Ben's preschool the other day because of Ben's obsession. Us mommies were standing outside Ben's classroom waiting for "class" to be over and Sam pointed up at the smoke detector on the ceiling and said, "Tector!" Then he pointed at the extinguisher on the wall and said, "Estingisher!" Then he pointed up at the exit sign and said, "Exit! Light!" You should have seen their faces. Especially since he was in his Tigger outfit at the time and they had all just been saying things to him like, "Hi cutie! Are you tigger? You're tigger! See! You're a tiger! Can you jump? Jump? No? Awe, aren't you a little sweetie."

Anyways, if you've got some free time and feel like talking to either of my children about fire safety or just hearing "What are you doing?" asked over and over, give us a call.

Do it like this Sammy!

Sammy likes me. A lot...
He likes to sit on me.
And sometimes he hugs me. Sorta while he sits on me though.
Hey! Get back here!
This is how you give a hug!
It's a good thing Sammy has a big brother like me to show him how to do things. Cause that guy is kinda screwy sometimes.

It was fun at the pool.

Today we went swimming with Sammy. It was his first time so Mommy and Aunty were working pretty hard to make sure that he had fun. I'm such a big boy that I can make my own fun mostly so I had a pretty good time... Except for that one part when Mommy was so busy making sure Sammy had fun that she forgot to make sure that I stayed alive. I still say it was fun at the pool, and I told Mommy so and cried a bit when it was time to leave.

Shutterbug

On Friday Mommy was downstairs doing some laundry and I noticed that she had left her camera on the kitchen table for me. There was a lot of cool stuff happening in the livingroom and since Mommy was too busy to take pictures I thought I would help her out. I think I got a few really good ones...

"Smile Sammy! Aww man. You moved. Hold on."
"Gotcha. Hmmm. Almost."
"Could you just stay still?"
"Never mind. There's a nice toy."
"And the table leg."
"And a toy. Wait. I think I took that one already. Oh well."
"Where's the zoom on this thing? Oops. Oh well."
"Oops again."
"Oops."
"Oh for peteses sake."
"This picture taking thing is harder than it looks."
"Okay. I think I've got it now."
"Smile Sammy!"
"Sammy! Smile! Come on Sammy! Smile!"
"Tickle, tickle, tickle!"
"Oh fine. Don't smile then. I'll just take a picture of our feet."

After my very productive photo session with Sammy I put the camera back where I got it from and went back to watching Tractor Tom.

Good work Sam.

Sam isn't good at much yet, but he sure is good at having birthdays. And I'm good at eating cake. It's a perfect match really.

Sammy's Birthday

Sammy had another birthday yesterday. I don't know how come he gets birthdays all the time and mine almost never comes. I got to blow out his candle though so I guess that's okay. I sang "Happy Birthday Sammy" all by myself. Maybe if Auntie Melissa will help Mommy with YouTube you can see a video clip of it on here sometime.

Another Post From Mommy

The following is a word for word transcript of a "conversation" I overheard on the baby monitor while I was downstairs on the computer chatting with Ang and upstairs Sam was in his swing and Ben was having a rice cake for a snack. (He eats it because he thinks it's popcorn.)

At this point I decide I should probably go upstairs... And I found this:

It's too bad you can't see all of the fisher price little people crammed in the swing under the trains...

Two Peas...

Here are some pictures of me.

If you check Sam's blog you might notice something interesting...

Note from Mommy: I recommend that you open up two windows and put Ben and Sam's blogs side by side to get the full effect.

My Budder

My new little budder has been home for a while now. I like to watch him and if I get a chance I like to squeeze his skull and maybe rub my head on him. He doesn't really like it, but I do.He doesn't really like baths either but I do.
Note from Mommy: After Sam's first bath Ben was desperate to have a bath too... He cried and cried, "Bas! Bas!" and kept crying while his Daddy and Grandma Willems ran him a tub of water. Luckily his Mommy suggested putting Sam's tub in Ben's tub and that finally stopped the tears.

Ah Hoe Doo?

Mommy and Daddy told me I was going to have a brother yesterday. But they didn't tell me that he was going to be so cool! Here, look!

And he gave me this awesome present! (He's so cool!)

I love my baby brother!
