Ye Old Buster Days Weekend

A long long time ago, in a land that is bery far away, a little boy named Ben had a really fab weekend at his Gramma and Grampa's house...

He carried a token of his love to his most devoted admirer. (Mommy.)

He rode a mighty steed.

He gathered together with other citizens of the land to cheer the parading heroes.

He hoarded great bounty and many MANY priceless treasures.

(Can't talk eating.)

He feasted on cake to celebrate the day of his birth with his most loyal subjects.

He won the love of the fair lady Chloe.

He journeyed through strange and exotic places. Many... MANY times. And then he did it again.

And then he just chilled out with the king.

We Went to the Zoo!

I got to go to the zoo, three times! When you go to the zoo three times you get to bring lots of different people along with you...

I brought Sammy every time. I like having him around, because he does whatever I do. Here we are sliding down a hill.

I made sure he didn't get lost when we got out of the stroller to do some walking. This tunnel was much too big for such a little guy to go through on his own. He's so lucky to have a big brother like me.

I brought Grampa and Gramma and Aunty and Great Gramma along one day. Grampa let me ride on his walker. He's the best Grampa ever.

On another day I took Noah and Aunty Melissa and some of Mommy's friends. A chicken showed up too. He wanted my fries, and he got some! Noah was really scared of him, but I wasn't.

Well, okay, I did get a little scared when he followed us to see the other animals. Especially when he jumped up on a fence to see if we had any fries left. That was one freaky chicken.

I brought Ethan and Connor and their mommy once too. Ethan and I had lots of fun together.

He makes me laugh and I like having him around. I sure hope I get to see him next time I go see Gramma and Grampa again.

The Adventures of Benjamin

We've been having lots of adventures at Gramma and Grampa's house. There are lots of people to see and lots of things to do.
I got to go to the park with Ethan and Connor and my good buddy Brendan. We did some sliding and we played tag. Those guys are pretty fast, plus I had some trouble figuring out who was it so I ended up being it a lot.

We played hide and and seek too. I like that game. I'm a good hider.
I got to watch NastCar racing with Uncle Mike. I like him. Lots.
And I got to go swimming. There was some weird guy there that wanted to play with me. I liked him too atchoolly.

At the H

One of my favorite things we did this summer was go the the H for the second time. The first time I didn't really get what was going on though and I was too little for rides. This time I was primed and ready.
We had to wait in line a lot. That was the hard part. Good thing I had Mommy to keep me company.

Choo! Choo! This is one wild ride! Definitely worth the wait.

I was too scared to try this fishy ride but Adrianna REALLY liked it.

And although you wouldn't know it to look at him, Noah liked it too.

I wasn't too scared to go on this roller coaster though! Mommy was very surprised at how brave I was!

I liked the games almost better than the rides. I would have kept fishing even after I won the jumbo prize and I was a little sad when the guy took my fishing rod away.

I caught a duck! What? But I don't want a prize! I want this duck!

I went to my first crash-up derby. I liked it. I play crash-up all the time with my cars now.

I liked the petting zoo a lot better this year than I did last year. I even helped Aunty feed some goats...

... And we poked some pigs. Good times.

I got to go on lots of rides once it got dark out because they were all FREE! Here I am ridin' in a dump truck with Aunty. It was kind of a tight fit.

Mommy fit too. Only not quite as well. I could have rode forever, but Mommy said her legs were cramping.

Yup. The H was sure a good time. I still talk about it almost every day.

Middle II: The Wrath of John

Bentron's log. Stardate six-twenty point seven. Starship Benterprise on training mission to the Forestry Farm. Section Fourteen, coordinates 52 degrees 07 minutes latitude, 106 degrees 38 minutes longitude. Approaching fishing pond, all systems normal and functioning...

This post is mostly about Grampa and me. He's been wanting to take me fishing for a while now, and we finally got to go. First, we had a picnic and played at the park. Then Noah "helped" me carry my new fishing rod over to the fishing pond...

To the last, I will grapple with thee.
Grampa set up my fishing rod for me and after a while I started to get the hang of it. Noah had a few turns too, but lucky for me he had to go home for a nap, so I didn't have to share with him after that.
Good thing 'cause I sure liked fishing. I had some troubles because I wanted to be able to cast like Grampa does and fish "very nice", but I'm good at reeling, and I really liked it when Grampa put a big fat worm on a hook for me.
A lot.
After a while we got tired of fishing in the hot sun and we went over to that Kinsmen park place together so I could ride the train again... And again.
And, after a brief interlude on the merry-go-round...
I rode that train again. So much for a little training cruise...

So we didn't catch any fish that day... But Grampa says catching a fish is my first, best destiny; anything else is a waste of material and that a no-catch situation is a possibility every fisherman may face so I will persevere... And someday Grampa and me will have our revenge on those fish.

The Middle

Time to tell you more about my visit with Grampa and Gramma, only this post is mostly about Mommy and Aunty and me...
Mommy and Gramma went garage sale-ing and Gramma got me some trucks and this awesome bouncy house. At first I was kind of scared of it, but now I like it. A lot. My gramma rocks.
Mommy and Aunty took Sammy and me out for Vietnamese food at Nah Trang. I had noodles. I liked them, but not as much as Sam did.
What I really liked was going to the ice cream bus for dessert. I've always liked buses, but who knew you could get ice cream from them?
I was so happy I ran in circles for a while. (That's what I do when I'm really happy.)
Man, was I ever happy.
We went for a walk along the river afterwards. Mummy loves the river. I mostly loved running helter-skelter all over the paths.
I got a little dirty.
I had such a good time that I didn't want to leave. Aunty had to go home and do some laundry though, so Mommy bribed me with a promise to take me to the park. I had no idea it would be Kinsmen Park! Choo chooooooooo! (Sammy didn't really like it, but who cares right? Chooooo choooooo!)
We went on the big giant wheel. I would have rode stuff all night, but Mommy didn't bring enough money.
So I had to ride by myself. It wasn't as much fun with as it was with Mommy and Sammy, but I did it and Mommy said she was so proud of her big boy.

I cried when we left. Mommy had to bribe me by promising that we would come back to ride the horsies and the train again tomorrow.

To be continued...
